What’s on this week?

Emily is back and she’s still in Paris! Love her or hate her, this hit series is back for round four. Our heroine juggles her work and love life while falling more in love with the beautiful French capital.

Our video this week looks at the trailer and gives you a taste of what to expect.

When I choose a video, I correct the subtitles and give you notes so you can make sense of any language and culture that’s key to understanding.

This week we have:

  1. Video of the week. The trailer for Emily in Paris Season 04.

  2. Language focus. French words and phrases that we use in English.

  3. Comprehension test. Check your understanding of this week’s video.

Let’s get started!

1. Video of the week - Emily in Paris

Emily in Paris follows the story of Emily, an ambitious young woman from Chicago who moves to Paris for her dream job. The show explores her challenges adapting to French culture, building new relationships, and balancing her personal and professional life. It’s full of humour, fashion, and some cultural misunderstandings. Have you seen it?

If any of this is new vocabulary for you, remember that when you watch the video, you can click on any word in the subtitles for a teacher’s note that explains everything!

Watch the video… and learn!

Click here to watch the video with clear, correct captions (not auto-generated), definitions for the key vocabulary, and an option to slow the video down to help you catch every word.

What did you think of the trailer? Would you learn French if you lived in Paris? Let me know in the comments!
